Hi! If you have a photo studio or take photos of people (weddings, children, animals, whatever) - this article is for you. I'll tell you how to make your site start bringing in clients, work around the clock and not just hang out on the Internet, but really help you earn money.
No heavy words and "water" - only things that work in 2025. Let's go!
Why do you need a website if you have Instagram??
Everyone asks this question. I asked it too when I started. But here's what I realized over time:
-
Instagram is cool, but it will not replace the website. People want to see structured information: prices, service packages, a full portfolio, how the shooting goes, reviews. You can’t fit all this into one post.
-
The website works 24/7. Someone is looking for a photographer at three in the morning - the website will show everything. Someone wants to book a date right away easily.
-
And most importantly: people search in Google. Someone entered "photographer for christening Lviv" - and sees you. If you are not on Google, you lose dozens of potential clients every month.
What kind of website does a photo studio need??
Honestly - simple. No bells and whistles or dancing with programmers. It should be:
-
Fast (doesn't slow down, especially on a phone)
-
Clear (navigation at the level of "a child can figure it out")
-
Beautiful (but not in the style of "too much glitter")
-
With photos that are wow, and not "well, that's what happened - that's what I posted"
What must be present:
-
Main page – briefly: who you are, what's cool about you, where to find you
-
Portfolio – by topic: wedding, family, children, studio, etc.
-
Services and prices – simple blocks: "Photo session in the studio - 1500 UAH / 1 hour"
-
About me / About the studio – tell us how it all started, why you love photography, maybe a little personal (people appreciate it!)
-
Registration form or "Register" button – as simple as possible.
What is SEO and why you can’t do without it
It's a scary word, but it's really that simple.
SEO is what makes your site show up in Google when people type something like:
-
"photo session for pregnant women Lviv"
-
"photographer for graduation Kyiv"
-
"children's photo studio Ivano-Frankivsk"
These phrases are called keywords. They need to be included in the texts on the site, in the page titles, in the descriptions of the photos. Without them, Google simply won’t understand what your site is about.
And one more thing – meta tags. These are short descriptions of pages that are visible in the search results. Simply put – what attracts the client to click on your site.
An example of a meta description:
Wedding photo session in Lviv. Soulful photos, delicate decoration, warm atmosphere. Photo studio "Solnechnaya" - see portfolio!
Don't be lazy with texts: Google loves live communication
Even if you are not a copywriter, try to write simple texts for each page. The main thing is not to copy from other sites (Google sees this and reduces the rating).
Write as if you are telling a person:
-
What will she get
-
How it all happens
-
How much does it cost
-
Why you
And don't forget - each page should have its own "feature". Don't duplicate the same thing.
Photo Optimization: Yes, It Matters
Lots of photos - that's cool. But if you don't optimize them, the site will take a long time to load, and no one will wait.
What to do:
-
Compress photos before uploading (TinyPNG, Squoosh, etc.)
-
Give logical names to files, don't

Write alt-texts - a short description of the photo for Google

| children photographer Ivano-Frankivsk | Home, Local SEO |

Social networks + website = power
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok are not competitors of the site, but allies. Ideally, everything should work together:
-
In old age — studio life, clients, process
-
Inspiration, portfolio in posts
-
And the link always leads to the site (there is more, more structured, more serious)
People first look at Instagram, and then look for "officiality" - and go to the site. If it does not exist or is bad - there is a risk of losing a client.
Google Maps: A must
It's free. And it works great.
-
Sign up for a Google Business Profile
-
Fill in your address, business hours, contact number
-
Add photos and ask customers for reviews
When someone searches for a photo studio near me, Google shows exactly these profiles.
Blog: Even if you're not a writer
Many are afraid to start a blog: "But I'm not a journalist...".
But a blog is simply useful or interesting texts. For example:
-
"5 tips for the perfect family look"
-
"Why is it better for children to take pictures in the morning?"
-
"Birthday photo shoot - how to organize it?"
Write in your own words. People appreciate it. And one more thing: blogs are a plus for SEO , because Google sees that the site is alive and interesting.
Video is a must-have in 2025
Make short videos:
-
"Before / After": how photos look without and with editing
-
"Backstage": how the shooting goes
-
"1 minute about me": show your face - it inspires trust
Add these videos to the site, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok.
Don't forget about external links
Google trusts sites that are linked to by others more.
How to get them:
-
Register in local directories (like 1551.ua, relax.ua)
-
Make arrangements with makeup artists, hosts, decorators - exchange links
-
Ask clients to share your site on social networks after the shoot
And most importantly, be yourself
People are not looking for the perfect photographer. They are looking for their photographer. Someone who is comfortable to smile at, someone who is not afraid to take a photo with, someone who does not require any stress during the shoot.
A website is just another opportunity to show who you are.
Let's sum it up (without further complications)
-
Make a simple and convenient website
-
Write lively texts with keywords
-
Show the best photos and describe them
-
Have a blog, social networks, Google map
-
Don't be afraid to share yourself - this is the greatest advantage
